About Us

Milne Studio got its modest beginnings in San Antonio, Texas, in the summer of 1999, when Brad Milne teamed up with a top Texas talent agent, Prescillia Condra, and provided acting classes to multiple age groups at multiple levels. In the years that followed, the studio gave weekend intensives, multi-week workshops, and private coaching sessions in Los Angeles, Austin, and San Antonio.

During the summer of 2010, the studio was given an opportunity to open a school in San Antonio once again. This school’s curriculum was built around an ongoing adult class program as well as a teen program which flourished into the production of a series pilot, Book, that was nominated for Best International Dramatic Pilot at the 2012 Banff World Media Festival.

Decades later, Brad Milne returned to Toronto to get into the world of acting again, along with exploring the opportunity of opening a studio. Toronto has been a blessing, and since November 2014, Brad has taught over 900 classes to over 700 actors all by himself. Milne Studio is now surrounded by a faculty of five expertly skilled teachers covering all aspects of the acting craft and career along with four expertly skilled support team staff that cover all aspects of communications, operations, technology and special projects.

Pre-Covid-19, Milne Studio was bustling in its new 2500 sq. ft. ultra modern teaching center and production environment, hosting five full classes a week. Milne Studio takes immense pride in its ability to adapt to the surrounding circumstances, which is particularly important in the acting industry. So when the Covid-19 lockdown began, the studio promptly started offering online classes, free of charge, to lift the spirits of students and actors across Canada and the USA. While these classes initially served as a way to keep everyone connected and to keep the sense of community alive, this pro-bono period also served as a testing ground for Brad and his team to deliver optimal training in the online virtual world.

As of August 2020, the studio is offering 10+ classes per week. The online training program has expanded Milne Studio’s presence in the industry. Online virtual training provides the faculty and support team the ability to make training widely accessible.
